Czechia Digital Nomad Program

Czechia’s Digital Nomad Program is a government economic-migration programme for selected-country IT and marketing specialists. It is not a broad residence permit for all remote workers.

The programme gives admitted applicants a guaranteed opportunity to submit a long-term visa or long-term residence application at a Czech embassy or consulate abroad and a stated 45-day processing target. The actual residence purpose depends on the track: foreign employees use the long-term visa purpose of other, while freelancers use the long-term visa purpose of business.

Application Flow

1. Confirm nationality, field, and track.
2. Decide between foreign-employee and freelancer evidence.
3. Prepare the Digital Nomad Program application form and declarations.
4. Submit the programme-inclusion request to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
5. If included, file the long-term visa or residence application at the Czech embassy or consulate abroad.
6. Provide all statutory visa documents even if some were already sent for programme inclusion.
7. Wait for the 45-day programme processing target.
8. Register after arrival and plan extension or long-term residence before the first visa horizon ends.

Good Fit

This route is strongest for selected-country IT and marketing workers who fit one of the two official tracks cleanly, can document foreign employment or Czech-licensed freelance activity, and want Czechia as a Schengen base with family filing possible.

Poor Fit

It is usually a poor fit for general remote workers outside IT or marketing, people from non-listed countries, applicants with recent Czech long-term visa or residence status, employees who need Czech employment, or freelancers who do not want a Czech trade-licence setup.
