Greece Digital Nomad Visa

Greece’s Digital Nomad Visa is a national visa route for non-EU remote workers who provide work or services remotely to employers or clients outside Greece.

The route begins with a digital nomad visa of up to 12 months. Applicants who want to stay longer may apply for the related residence permit before the visa expires.

Application Flow

1. Confirm that all work is remote and for employers, clients, or a business outside Greece.
2. Prepare the consular digital nomad visa file.
3. Apply through the competent Greek consular authority in the country of main residence.
4. Enter Greece with the digital nomad visa if approved.
5. If staying beyond the visa period, apply for the residence permit before the visa expires.
6. Submit biometrics and collect the residence permit according to Ministry of Migration procedure.
7. Renew while continuing to meet the income, work-source, insurance, and family conditions.

Good Fit

This route is strongest for remote workers with stable after-tax income, non-Greek employers or clients, clean insurance, and a plan to avoid any Greek economic activity.

Poor Fit

It is usually a poor fit for applicants who need Greek clients, want family members to work in Greece, rely mainly on passive income rather than active remote work, or plan to arrive as tourists and sort out the digital nomad route from inside Greece.
