Greece’s digital nomad file is easiest to prepare when you separate it into work-source proof, no-Greek-work declaration, income proof, insurance, identity documents, and family evidence.

Start with the main Greece Digital Nomad Visa guide if you are still checking eligibility. Use the timeline and costs guide to plan sequencing.

Work Evidence

Article 68 separates work evidence by profile.

EmployeeEmployment or project contract, or other proof of work relationship, with employer outside Greece
Freelancer with multiple clientsContracts or project agreements with non-Greek employers or clients
Self-employed ownerEvidence of role, business name, registered seat, activity field, and corporate purpose of a business outside Greece

Evidence should make it obvious that the economic relationship is outside Greece.

No-Greek-Work Declaration

The applicant must declare the intention to reside in Greece while working remotely and commit not to provide work, services, or projects in any way to an employer established in Greece.

This is more than a formality. It is one of the core boundaries of the route.

Income Evidence

Prepare bank statements, payslips, invoices, contracts, employer letters, tax records, or other evidence showing stable after-tax income of at least EUR 3,500/month.

If family members accompany the applicant, include the 20% spouse/cohabitant increment and 15% per child increment.

Insurance Evidence

The insurance certificate should cover the required risks. UK government guidance summarising Greek requirements lists disability, medical expenses for disease or accident, and extensive hospital care categories, with specified annual cover amounts and contribution limits.

Applicants should follow the Greek consulate’s checklist, because insurance wording can matter.

Family Evidence

Family members receive individual visas ending at the same time as the main applicant’s visa. Prepare marriage, cohabitation, birth, adoption, custody, and consent documents where relevant.

Family members do not receive the right to work or conduct economic activity in Greece under this route.

Document Quality Checklist

  • Make work-source evidence clearly non-Greek.
  • Use after-tax income figures.
  • Label family income calculations.
  • Keep insurance wording and coverage clear.
  • Keep copies for the residence permit stage.
  • Recheck consular document and translation rules before filing.
