Application Flow

1. Check whether the applicant can enter Albania visa-free, needs a type C visa, or needs a type D/LD visa.
2. Confirm lawful stay in Albania or a valid ability to apply from the country of residence.
3. Prepare passport pages, photo, accommodation proof, foreign employment or service contract, income or deposit evidence, criminal record, and health insurance.
4. Translate, legalise, or authenticate foreign documents where required.
5. Apply online through e-Albania service 15146.
6. Pay the service fee and any applicable visa fee, then upload the payment proof.
7. Track the 4-to-12-week decision window.
8. Before expiry, decide whether to renew, change status, or leave.
9. Separately assess family residence, tax residence, and annual declaration duties.

Good Fit

This route is strongest for remote employees, consultants, contractors, and freelancers with clear foreign income, foreign contracts, lawful stay, clean criminal-record evidence, Albanian accommodation, and health insurance for the stay.

Poor Fit

It is usually a poor fit for people working for Albanian clients, people who need local employment, applicants without formal contracts, applicants who cannot document support, and anyone who assumes tourist stay alone authorises long-term residence.
